STRANGEWAYS TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM WITH TERRY BROCK

The news of Strangeways reunion with American singer Terry Brock leaked when the announcement of Firefest 2010 festival line-up was launched with the inclusion of the band in the “Native Sons”/”Walk in the Fire” line-up on the bill. This came as a big surprise to many, since probably very few people would have hoped to see Brock crossing the ocean again and even less could think of a brand new Strangeways recording with the singer together with guitarist Ian J. Stewart, new bassist Warren Jolly, drummer Jim Drummond and keyboard player Dave "Munch" Moore.

Still the Strangeways reunion is now reality and the newly recorded studio album “Perfect World” will be released on Frontiers Records on October 15th in Europe and October 26th in the US.

MY FAVORITE HIGHWAY ANNOUNCE SPLIT UP

In an announcement via the band's website, Virginia based rockers My Favorite Highway announced the band is splitting up. A short string of farewell shows is planned for December in the band's hometown. "Pat, Will and myself have been doing a little bit of soul searching this year and we all mutually agree that the My Favorite Highway chapter of our lives is coming to a close," the band's lead singer David Cook wrote on the band's official site. "This band has been the most important part of who we are for over half a decade, but we all feel that the time has come for us to move on."

Cook did not cite any exact reasons for the break up which comes just over a year after the band released their last album "How To Call A Bluff" on Virgin Records in the Summer of 2009.

FRONTIERS RECORDS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM UNRULY CHILD

After disbanding over sixteen years ago, all the original members of the legendary Melodic Hard Rock quintet Unruly Child, have reunited to produce a brand new album entitled “Worlds Collide” due for release on October 15th in Europe and October 26th in the USA on Frontiers Records.

Marcie Michelle Free (vocalist - King Kobra, Signal), Bruce Gowdy (guitarist – Stone Fury, World Trade), and Guy Allison (keyboardist – Lodgic, World Trade, Doobie Brothers) are back together again and have written and recorded a stunning new cd. Rejoining Free, Gowdy, and Allison are original band members from the first record produced in 1992 by Beau Hill (Ratt, Winger, The Storm, Europe) and released on Interscope/Atlantic in 1992: drummer - Jay Schellen (Hurricane, World Trade, Asia), and bassist - Larry Antonino (Pablo Cruise).

AVANTASIA BRINGS METAL OPERA TO TOWN

In November the prestigious all-star project AVANTASIA will set off on a world tour, kicking off on the 30th of November at Z7, Pratteln, Switzerland. First guests for the tour have been confirmed. Besides Magnum-voice Bob Catley, the infamous Jorn Lande, Amanda Somerville, Olli Hartmann and main-man Tobias Sammet, legendary ex-Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske will hit the stage this time as well.

Tobias Sammet: "I remember back in 1999 I did everything to get Michael Kiske involved in what was just an album project at the time, Avantasia's "Metal Opera". I was a happy boy in a toy store when I heard the tunes I had tailored for him, anthems like "Reach Out For The Light", "The Tower", "No Return" and he was an important corner stone for making Avantasia a classic amongst melodic Metal fans all over the world. I tried hard to convince Michael to enter the stage when Avantasia played their festival shows in 2008, but the time was not right. Now the stars have lined up and I am looking forward - as a representative of Avantasia and even more so as a fan to having Michael enter the stage to perform those kinds of classic Metal tracks for the first time in more than 17 years. I am looking forward to having Bob and Jorn, Amanda, Olli Hartmann, Sascha and Miro and all my fellow-Avantasians on stage again. Maybe we will have some more surprises, let's see. Let's reach out for the light!

Italian melodic rockers HUNGRYHEART are around and rocking the stages in their home country since the late 90's. In 2008 they released their self-titled debut album, that was long awaited and highly appreciated by the media as well as by the fans. The album was listed Top 5 in several voting polls of the magazines and got great reviews all over the place.

Now, two years later HUNGRYHEART eventually released their second album "One Ticket To Paradise". And this album didn't only top their debut, it took HUNGRYHEART to a whole new level.

UPDATE ON STEVEN LUKATHER'S NEW SOLO ALBUM

Guitarist, vocalist, composer, producer and arranger, Steve Lukather is set to release his new solo album All’s Well That Ends Well on Monday 11th October 2010 on the Mascot Records label. The founding member of Toto, Lukather will showcase his innate feel for rock and jazz guitar music, along with his song writing talents. The new album is laden with extraordinary guitar playing performed across some of the best and most emotional songs of Steve’s career. Fee Waybill of the Tubes is featured on backing vocals and contributes to some of the co-song writing with CJ Vanston and Lukather.

“I’m very excited because I have some great new music,” says Lukather. “I am trying for a personal best and working very hard on all aspects of music. It’s a journey that’s for sure.”

SPRINGSTEEN TO RELEASE 'THE PROMISE' ON NOVEMBER 16TH

Columbia Records has just announced Bruce Springsteen's The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story will be released on November 16. For the first time, fans will have access to 21 never-before-heard complete songs from the "Darkness" recording sessions on 2 CD or 4 LP 180-gram vinyl sets that will be available as The Promise. "'Darkness' was my 'samurai' record," Springsteen writes, "stripped to the frame and ready to rumble. But the music that got left behind was substantial." The Promise will also include the new essay from Bruce Springsteen, lyrics to all new tracks and unseen photographs from the Darkness On The Edge of Town sessions.

STEELHEART VOCALIST IN STUDIO RECORDING NEW TRACKS

Steelheart vocalist Mili Matijevic is currently in the studio recording some new exciting tracks. The new music will be Steelheart's first since their last album, 'Good 2B Alive', was released in September of 2008.

BON JOVI GREATEST HITS SET COMING IN NOVEMBER

Bon Jovi will release a new, best-of compilation, simply titled Greatest Hits, on November 9. "Music marks milestones in all our lives," said Jon Bon Jovi. "These songs have stood the test of time and they remind us all where we came from, even as we keep our eyes towards the future."

Greatest Hits will be out in a one-disc and two-disc version. The one-disc, 16-song set includes two new songs, including a new single "What Do You Got?," which will impact radio by the end of August. Greatest Hits - The Ultimate Collection, will feature 28 tracks and two additional, brand-new songs.

The four new songs ("The More Things Change," "No Apologies," "This Is Love, This Is Life" and the first single, "What Do You Got?") were written specifically for Greatest Hits.

Young Dutch rockband Only Seven Left recently announced that their debut album "It Was All A Dream" will be released on September 24th. The new single taken from this album is called "Sleeping Without You" and is now with the 2 bonus tracks "Worst Friend Award" and "Sleeping Without You (Instrumental)" available on I-Tunes. The band shot a video for this single last week with director Sjoerd Madou. In this video the band jokes about their supposed boyband-image.
