HOUSE OF LORDS COMES BANGIN' RIGHT IN YOUR FACE
The "Bangin' World Tour" brought the American melodic hard rock band House of Lords on this Friday evening to MC de Bosuil in Weert, the Netherlands. They were supported by Project A and Kane'd. Of course Lazy Rocker and his friends were also there! Click below on 'Read More' for the review of this great rock night. Big thanx goes to MC de Bosuil for the pictures. PROJECT A
This rock night started around 20.30 hrs with Project A on stage. A local Dutch band that plays alternative hard rock with a little funky taste so now and then. They looked full of energy. I didn’t know their work so far, but they already released one album in 2008 and for next year they planned to release an EP and a single “Miss Believe”. They finished their set with this new single. I liked the guitar playing and the sound of the drums. I think this band has got some potential and I will look out for their coming releases for sure.

KANE'D
Next band on stage is Kane’d. This 7-piece rock band from Wales is fronted by not 1, not 2, but 3 young sexy ladies and 4 guys in the backline. I think their act can best be described as a heavier version of Vixen meets Poison with a punkish attitude like Pink for example. No complicated lyrics, but straight party hard rock. Their set list also included Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” which was played very well. I have to say I never saw a support band before that got so much response as Kane’d got this night. The girls ended their set with a song called “So Lonely” but I don’t think they won’t be that lonely...

01. Intro/Outta My mind
02. Playin’ With The Devil
03. Rebel Yell (Billy Idol cover)
04. Don’t Be Stupid
05. Rock Against The DJ
06. Don’t Turn On The Lights
07. Fuck U
08. So Lonely
HOUSE OF LORDS
At 22.35 hrs the main act, the House of Lords, entered the stage. The American rockers, once under the wings of no one else than Gene Simmons, recently released their 8th studio album “Cartesian Dreams”, but the band started this show with two songs from the 90’s: “Sahara” and “Talkin’ ‘Bout Love. From their new album 4 songs were played “Never Never Look Back”, the title track “Cartesian Dreams”, the arena rocker “Bangin’ and my personal favorite “Born To Be Your Baby“.

Some classics they played were “Pleasure Palace“, “I Wanna Be Loved“ and a great version of the monster ballad “Love Don´t Lie“ where the keyboard parts you hear on the studio version had been replaced by the guitar from Rob Marcello. The man, substitute for Jimi Bell during this tour but currently guitar player in Danger Danger, delivered good work. Although Jimi Bell´s guitar playing is sleazier, the audience including the lazy rocker liked his playing as well. Drummer B.J. Zampa played solid as always and showed his tricks during an excellent solo.

The band seemed to enjoy their selves very much on this Friday night. Vocalist James Christian was drinking red wine and joking all the time with Chris McCarvill. One moment the bass player got so enthusiastic that he turned around and around during “Pleasure Palace“ so much that he didn´t know where he was and smashed James right in his face with the neck of his bass guitar. James had a bleeding wound under his nose and it must have hurt, but with all his experience he finished the song before he went backstage to check the damage. After the guitar solo he came back for the last song of the set and for only one encore. I don´t know if they played only one encore because of the smash in his face but it could be the reason. Still, as always, James showed up at the merchandise stand within 10 minutes after the show to sign albums and to chat with the audience. However, he didn´t stay very long.
