After releasing two albums with EMI, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have left the label, and are now independent.  The departure from EMI was something the band wanted for a long time according to lead singer Ronnie Winter, who said that the band was frustrated by the poor promotion of the band’s second album Lonely Road. “I think some fans don’t even know that we released Lonely Road,” Winter told during an interview last week.  “We’re kind of just adjusting to the freedom at this point.  It’s kind of mind blowing, once you’ve been at a label for five years, you get stuck in the monotony and the cycle of how to do things.”

Winter was clear that the band had no intentions of signing a deal with another label. “At this point we want to stay completely 100% independent for as long as possible.” As for new music, the band has a new EP due out August 24th, entitled Hell Or High Water.  The first single from the album, “Choke” is already streaming online. “With this EP, it allows us to write, record, and release an album in one year which is almost unheard of on any major label,” explained Winter.  “So we’re going to do that because a lot of our fans are ready for new music.”
