THE RETURN OF A HAPPY PERSON !
"THE VOICE"... MARCIE FREE ROCKS ON !
After delivering several master pieces in the AOR/Melodic Rock genre with the bands King Kobra, Signal and Unruly Child and of course the solo album "Long Way From Love" there was a long absence around MARCIE FREE. After changing of sex the situation for her as artist wasn't easy at all. But in 2010 she hits back with... UNRULY CHILD. And the most important thing is that she faces life as a happy person now. Let Marcie do the talking...

A few weeks ago your webzine LazyRocker.com already reported about Sleeze Beez's reunion gig. After being disbanded for almost 15 years they will support Aerosmith during their Dutch show on June 23rd in the Gelredome in Arnhem. The band, notorious for that typical 80's glamrock attitude filled with sex, drugs & rock 'n' roll, became succesful when they released their album Screwed, Blued & Tattooed. The album even reached #115 on U.S.A. Billboard's Top 200. We met guitar player Chriz van Jaarsveld and drummer Jan Koster the night before they started to rehearse for their reunion gig. It was a pretty long time since they met each other so while we were enjoying a couple of beers Chriz and Jan talked a lot about the reunion, their albums, but most of all about all their great and often very sleazy memories...

In 2007 6 young rockers formed the band H.E.A.T. The Swedish outfit released their same titled debut album in 2008. This album was received very well in the melodic rock scene. Now in a few weeks their 2nd album "Freedom Rock" is going to be be released. Early 2009 LazyRocker.com attended a show in the Biebob in Vosselaar, Belgium, where H.E.A.T. acted as a support band for the German melodic metal band Edguy. In May 2010 they were back for the "Sweden Rocks Europe Tour" together with Treat and The Poodles. After their performance LazyRocker.com had an interview with bass player Jimmy Jay and drummer Crash. Click HERE for a review of the gig.

In the late 80's when hair bands like Bon Jovi, Europe and Def Leppard ruled the international hard rock scene the Dutch happy metal band Zinatra gained succes with their hitsingle "Love or Loneliness". The band also released two albums.
In 1992 vocalist Joss Mennen left the band. Two years later he formed his band simply named Mennen. Their music was heavier than the sound of Zinatra.
Now in 2010 after 18 years, 5 studio albums, 2 live albums and several big international tours Joss decided to end Mennen. Saturday April 17th they played their final show in MC The Bosuil in their hometown Weert in the South of the Netherlands. Just a few hours before the show your webzine LazyRocker.com spoke to frontman Joss Mennen about the ending of his band. We only spoke about Mennen, but as many of you might be interested in his Zinatra-era we agreed to talk about that in the near future.

As a record collector a long time ago I heard an EP by the band ACTOR (released in 1983).
Last year I got in touch with the female singer of that band... JESSIE GALANTE.
She started working on a solo career and released her most recent album called 'Spitfire' in 2009.
It's recommended for everyone who likes mean, powerful female vocals.

A few hours before his show in The Rock Temple in Kerkrade, the Netherlands, (for a review clicke HERE) LazyRocker.com had an interview with Bert Heerink. The former vocalist of VanDenBerg - one of the biggest Dutch rockbands ever - but also of Picture, Undercover and Kayak released his latest melodic rock solo album "Better Yet" in 2009. In order to promote this album he is doing the "Better Yet and More Tour". A tour that also contained some dates where he was booked as the double headlining act together with no one less than John Waite. LazyRocker.com already attended the show in MC the Bosuil in Weert, the Netherlands with John Waite two days earlier. For a review click HERE.
"Better Yet" just entered the Japanese charts and the single "Panic Attack" is doing well in the Dutch charts. While enjoying a cup of tea (well we did, Bert twice threw away his cup of tea) we talked about his career and of course about his latest album that was produced by Michael Voss.

Just before Swedish most famous rock band Europe entered the stage for their first gig of the "Last Look at Eden" World Tour 2010 your favorite webzine LazyRocker.com had the chance to talk to Ian Haugland. The drummer had the questionable honour to be the first person to be interviewed by LazyRocker.com! As it was the first gig of the tour Europe's personnel was a bit nervous. The soundcheck took longer than expected so the interview started half an hour later than planned. No problem for us, no problem for Ian who was very relaxed and down-to-earth.
