DataReleased July 2012Format Digital EP Type Studio Genre Modern Rock Length 19:07 Edition date July 2012 Label Congregation Records ReviewThis EP exhibits every facet of this enigmatic and engaging Los Angeles quintet. First single and title track "Just Before Morning" is a co-write with Dan Wilson, who is best known for writing hits such as Adele's "Someone Like You" and Semisonic's "Closing Time." This track glides along on a divine hook and breezy acoustic guitars as singer Grant Arnow tells a story of finding love at sunrise in the Big Apple. The follow-up single, "Domino," features vocals from every band member, a first for BETA WOLF. It exudes the kind of pop rock exuberance that transcends the ages. Vocalist Arnow opens up on the heavy, yet hypnotic "Los Angeles" where the band pays homage to the city they love, followed by "Who's Holding On To You," a song written after many nights of people watching at the various L.A. bars and clubs. Everything ends on a bruising note with the scathing "Last Man Standing", an anthem about perseverance.
It's a personal declaration of independence and of Beta Wolf's arrival. This Wolf has bite, and that's why you won't forget it anytime soon!
